The Last 6 Months

Oh my goodness. So much has happened in the last six months. I'll just start up from when I last left off. Last August, I had the opportunity to release Green Sea Turtles that were cared for at the Maui Ocean Center for four years. We salelite tagged two out of the seven and released them in a protected cove.

I also had a chance to witness Hawksbill Turtle excavations. That was really cool.

One of my best girlfriend, Annie and her boyfriend also came out for a wedding. We hung out for dinner and drinks during the week, and Jun and I were also invited to the reception. It was a delightful opportunity to see some old and new friends.

At the end of August Jun and I went to Oahu for a long weekend to hang out with Wendy and Randy.

Right before traveling to LA, Jun and I added another addition to our family...Skie.

In September Jun and I flew home for my friend's wedding and to see some friends and family. This was a great opportunity for us to meet friends and family on both sides. On the way to LA, we got to meet Dave Kalama, a famous big wave surfer. He still lives on Maui and he's well known for surfing "JAWS", an area where waves can get as high as 60 feet in the winter.

In October Jun and I celebrated our first Halloween together in Lahaina. We had a blast and drank too much LOL.

In November my parents came out for three weeks. Geez, having them together was extremely challenging, but it was great to have them here in Maui.

We also got to share our first Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's together. It was very memorable. I was especially really impressed with our Thanksgiving dinner. Unfortunately I had to work that day so Jun had to make our dinner all by himself and it was so delicious. New Year's was another unforgettable event. Let's just say poor Jun wasn't feeling well and we had cut the night short. Check out his green face.

February was a mellow month. Jasmine, a high school friend, sailed out from Oahu to Maui with some friends. She and her crew invited Jun and I to go sailing on the west side of Maui for a day. We had so much fun and we saw so many Humpback Whales. It was one of my best whale watching tours.

In the beginning of March we had a wonderful visit from one of my best girlfriend, Wendy and her boyfriend Randy. We had the pleasure of sharing her birthday with her and their engagement. It was great to see them again and it gave Jun and I a chance to really get to know Randy.

Jun has also had an interesting six months. He applied for the Maui Police Department back in September. He has come a long way since then and today he started his first day at the academy. He had to make some adjustments, like sell his motorcycle, lose one day off together, drink less, and no traveling until he graduates. But he's really happy and we're both really excited about his new future.
